Links



Linking allows you to create links between internal wiki pages and also external content. When you create a link, clicking on the link will take you to the page which is being linked. If the page does not exist, then the page will be created when you click the link to the page.
All links are enclosed in two sets of square brackets and their parts are separated by commas, in this order:
  • The page name or URL being linked to.
  • Optionally, the link text or an image (prefixed with image:).
  • Optionally, when an image is used, a number which is the scale of the image as a percentage.
  • Optionally, any number of options, such as target:, in any order.



Basic links are created by enclosing text inside of two sets of square brackets. The text will be the name of the page that you are linking to.
For example, this would be a link to the home page: [[Home]] and it would look like this Home.


In addition to the basic link above, you can specify custom text after a comma.
For example, this would be a link to the home page with custom text: [[Home, Take me home!]] and it would look like this Take me home!.


Links to other sites are created the same way, using a URL starting with http: or https: in place of the page name.
For example: [[https://github.com/NTDLS/TightWiki, TightWiki on GitHub]] would look like this TightWiki on GitHub.


Any link, internal or external, can specify where it opens using the target: option. The most common is target:blank, which opens the link in a new browser tab. The leading underscore is optional, so target:_blank works too. Other values are self, parent and top.
Internal link that opens in a new tab:

Links with images are created by using a comma to separate an attachment name starting with image:. In addition, you can add another comma and specify the scaling of the image as a percentage. Please note that the image has to be attached to the page.

Links with external images (those residing on another server) are created by using a comma to separate an image URL starting with image:. External images are always shown at their original size.
